CT005 – Climate Finance, We Don’t Need More Money.

Dr. Michele Leone is the Senior Program Specialist for Climate Change at the International Development Research Centre (IDRC) based in Nairobi, Kenya. For almost 20 years, Dr. Leone has worked in a number of African countries including Malawi, Kenya, Mozambique, Burundi and Madagascar.

Dr.  Leone is a University lecturer, project manager and consultant with international development organizations; more recently, his interests merge the linkages between ecosystems and environmental change and human decision.
On this episode, Dr. Leone shares his concerns about:
  • Innovative options to Climate Financing apart from ODAs.
  • The need for, and approach to integrating people’s behavioural change to climate adaptation.
  • The IPCC report and the uncertainty of the Paris negotiation.
  • The contribution of Canada, through IDRC, to climate-friendly development.
